Ich erinnere mich an einige Lebensmitteleinkäufe zusammen mit meinen Cousinen in Kanada und daran, dass ich ganz perplex zu mir dachte: `Ach du Heilige! Wie findet man hier, wonach man speziell sucht unter tausenden unterschiedlichen Produkten?´ Und doch war im dem Armageddon an Ess- Stätten, Märkten und Zentren gewiss noch nicht begegnet. Wir sind zu einem Minimum an Kursbesuchen -technisch wie praktisch gesehen- verpflichtet, und glaubt mir, einen Fuehrerschein in Oesterreich zu erwerben kostet wahrlich ein Vermoegen von 1500 Euro, was in etwa 1800 US Dollar betraegt. Das ist eine absolute Abzocke und verdient es sicherlich nicht weiters, gefoerdert zu werden. In diesen Breiten jedoch herrscht scheinbar ueberhaupt kein Gefuehl der Wertschaetzung, wenn es darum geht, eine Fahrlizenz anzustreben, da sich der administrative Unkostenbeitrag hier gerade mal etwa auf $ 100 belaeuft. In my country you have to be 18 to get a driver's license, and even that age I consider as too immature at times looking at our horrific national accident stats. We are obligated to attend a minimum number of courses both theoretical and practical, and believe me, acquiring a license in Austria does cost you an arm and a leg at around 1500 Euro which equals 1800 US Dollar. That is a complete rip- off and nothing to promote, for sure. However, in this country, there is absolutely no sense of appreciation whatsoever when it comes to getting your licence as you only pay about one hundred dollar for administration services. America's Obsession with Medication - Honestly, I don't know of any nation that is as mesmerized and hooked onto medication - both over- the- counter (OTC) as well as prescription drugs - as America is. Alone the advertising industry spends billions of dollars on displaying hundreds of medicines at a staggering 45% of their time slots.
