Jung, Dumm Und Gelangweilt   - Ein herzliches Hallo an alle! - "Äffe nach, was du siehst", fällt mir augenblicklich dazu ein, wenn ich an den neuesten Trend denke, der gerade wieder einmal das Internet unsicher macht. Die Rede ist hierbei von der sogenannten "Zimt- Herausforderung". Alles klar? Das soll eine Herausforderung sein. Zweifelsohne richtet sich diese dümmliche Probe an junge Menschen, um genau zu sein, an Kinder und Teenager. Wieder einmal setzt unsere Jugend wegen einer doofen Mutprobe ihre wertvolle Gesundheit achtlos aufs Spiel. Diese Mal wiegt der Gruppenzwang schwer, sich idiotischer Weise darauf einzulassen, einen gehäuften Löffel an Zimtpulver ohne jegliche Flüssigkeit hinunter zu schlucken. Warum erstaunt es mich kein bisschen, dass sich Berichte wie "Mission Unvollständig" oder "Mission Unmöglich" häufen, sprich zahllose dumme Anhänger hinterher in Spitalspflege aufgenommen werden müssen? Young, Dumb and Bored   - A big Hello to all! - "Monkey see, monkey do", popped into my mind instantaneously as far as the latest fad news presently flooding the Internet. I'm talking about the "Cinnamon Challenge". Got it? This is supposedly a challenge! Wenn Man Lügt, Wird Alles Gut   - Hallo allerseits! - Den dieswöchigen Beitrag möchte ich dem provokanten Titels eines Buches widmen, das erst kürzlich erschienen und sogar in einer lokalen Morgenshow beworben wurde. Eigenartigerweise kam mir seither die selbe Aussage bereits mehrmals zu Ohren, und so beschloss ich, mich hinzusetzen und darüber eine Weile lang zu reflektieren. Was lese ich aus diesem Satz heraus? Die erste sich mir aufdrängende Assoziation handelt von "Politischer Korrektheit". So zweideutig sich der Begriff an sich darstellt, so verwirrend fallen die inhaltlichen Konzepte dazu aus. In Europa ist uns der Begriff der "Politischen Korrektheit" (von nun an P.K.) per SE nicht geläufig, und ich habe auch aus anderen Teilen der Welt noch nicht viel davon vernommen. Strangely, the exact same phrase I've heard or rather overheard a few times eve since, so I decided to sit down and reflect on this statement for a while. What exactly do I read from this? The very first association that I can think of is political correctness. As ambiguous as the term itself is, as confusing are its concepts. In Europe we don't know of political correctness (P.C. from now on) per SE, nor have I really heard much of it in other parts of the world yet either. What about the Brits, you may wonder? Frankly, I don't know although as blunt and upfront as they are, I just cannot picture P.C. being embedded in their straight- forward and to- the- point openness. Armut Und Gleichheit   - Guten Morgen allerseits! - Diese allmähliche Verlagerung von arm zu noch ärmer in diesem Land hat eine Abwärts- Spirale in Gang gesetzt und bereitet vielen Menschen schon seit Jahrzehnten große Sorge.  Die Mittelklasse, um die es einst durchschnittlich gut bestellt war, wird immer mehr zu neuen Armenriege der Nation, während die eigentlichen Armen bereits bedrohlich an den Rand der Klippe getrieben wurden. Trauriger Weise ist es nur mehr eine Frage der Zeit, wann diese aus den Charts verschwinden, da selbst eine Lupe bald schon nichts weiter von deren statistischer Existenz wahrzunehmen vermag als eine einzige flache Linie. Am Ende des Diagramms finden sich die Reichen und Superreichen, die zusammen 20% ausmachen. Lasst uns aber über das berühmt berüchtigte 1% in diesem Land sprechen. Poverty And Equality   - Good morning everyone! - This gradual downward- spiral shift from poor to poorer in this country has become of great concern to many folks here over the last few decades. The middle class which used to be doing well on average is becoming the new poor class, and the actual poor have been drastically pushed towards the edge of the cliff. Sadly it's only a matter of time until they'll be literally wiped off the charts as not even a magnifying glass will be able to reveal much more of its statistic existence than a sole flat line in the graphs. At the end of the diagram you find the rich and super rich which together make 20%, but let's talk about the infamous 1% in this country. They own 40% of all this country's wealth and 24% of the entire national income! It's getting worse.
