Good afternoon everybody! What happened about a month ago appalled me beyond anything, and this is what I would like to share with the world today: Self- justice as a new law? At the end of February, a young black male -still in his teens- was for whatever reason wandering around within a gated community in Sanford, Florida around 7:30 pm as he was spotted, stopped and questioned about his whereabouts by an alleged neighbor watch crime captain. It didn't take long, and Trayvon Martin was lying on the ground with the hood still over his head - shot dead by a lunatic of a self- righteous and omni- potent George Zimmerman, who shortly after incredibly and ridiculously claiming having acted in self- defense proved to be in no possession of a security license at all. What the heck?!
Okay, one would think that that moron appearing like Rambo himself would as a consequence be taken into custody, right? No, nothing of that kind as this quite obviously racist fellow is still enjoying his freedom! Not that I would have expected that person to turn himself in, however, I would certainly anticipate the law to step in here and become effective immediately. But again, nothing so far.
And this is just not sitting too well with me, to be honest. I am seriously wondering why this guy has not been arrested up to now. After all, is self- justice going to set a new trend for there seems to be no legal aftermath whatsoever? I totally understand and agree with all the folks that are being out in the streets everywhere to protest against BS like that. Besides, I fully support the public call for action and for a change of laws. Trayvon Martin should not have died in vain, nor should George Zimmerman, as a self- labelled security person of that compound be able to just get away with the scorn of thousands of outraged people all over America. Poor Trayvon rest in peace.
