Money Destroys The World - This morning's news segment about a supposedly renowned US dog breeder corporation having neglected thousands of dogs has once more proven that quality is sacrificed for the sake of quantity which is linked to the sad fact that everything revolves around money only. In order to increase and multiply profits, more volume of less quality has become the clearly chosen option everywhere. No doubt, we are dealing with a huge problem on a global scale, but still I feel that this country doesn't even bother masking the issue at times. That's just not fair towards the people here! Lies and false promises are the epitome of hypocrisy, all for the sake of making more money. Absolutely sickening! Just imagine, you would like to purchase a dog from a good breeding stock, and you are willing to pay more, but what you get is often not what you've been promised, no even worse guaranteed. The worst thing though, the paper work assures you that things are okay even though they clearly aren't. You then, like many others, might receive a sick, malnourished or abused animal. Really? Now some time into the investigation, the public learns that in the case of the AKC (American Kennel Club), there are only nine inspectors to control numerous places nationwide.
No wonder that those nine individuals are completely overwhelmed, but please, don't try and convince me that all the neglect and abuse that goes on has just come to the executive level's attention. That's a flat- out lie! Listening between the lines, it quickly becomes quite clear that the main focus is definitely not on the animals but on generating higher profits. Here's another outrageous incident which dates back a few years when the veil was finally lifted in a scandalous case dealing with an entirely different service. A funeral place, rather a dump than a parlor really, somewhere in the south had been hiding, storing and burying countless dead bodies in and around that building instead of putting them to rest just as they had promised to their customers. Of course, their money was gladly taken, however, the owners just carelessly dumped their beloved ones' corpses in the place of proper cremations or burials. Not until multiple complaints about the stench of human remains had started to trickle in, did the local authorities look into that case and voila discovered around 60 dead bodies all over the place. Disgusting! - And now to something that we all enjoy too much of and sometimes too frequently - food courts, buffets, diners, restaurants, etc. Sure, nobody wants to spend a lot of money, so most of us love to flock into big and cheap places where you get a lot for your buck. All you can eat, it says outside many buffets, and boy, there's indeed quite a ship load of foods to choose from. But just don't let yourself be fooled as far as the quality in such binge- eating palaces. Don't for a second believe that you are in for good steak meat just because it's Steak- Wednesday. Nope, actually quite the contrary, the cuts you are served for your $10 trip are the cheapest thus the chewiest of all. What you are offered an insane amount of though are real cheap- os like pasta, Macaroni & Cheese, bread, cake, candy, gravy, and other starches. Summing up, here quality stands little to almost no chance to quantity for reasons of making the most in terms of profits. Great indeed! As I see it, we are all screwed. For one, we keep putting our money into services that are badly provided, faulty or fake. Not enough of that, we also willingly tolerate poor quality for the sake of saving a little here and there. Apparently we are not quite aware that the power of money has put us as consumers on a path of total destruction, morally, mentally, physically, as well as spiritually. In karmic terms, bad intentions will always lead to bad results. As long as we allow ourselves to be part of that mega money trap by knowingly and actively taking advantage of getting away cheap, we will not be better than those who are out there to deceive us. This really should get us thinking!

Very well said once again Meg,
ReplyDeleteI just love reading your messages and they always leave you thinking of what you are writing and reading the message in the words...I do remember both of the incidents that you have spoken about in your piece and i do agree that money is just to much overtaken life all together..You do need money to survive, i believe, however, I have never had much money but enough to live and do a few things...I raised my children to know that if you have a roof over your heads, food on the table and clothes on their backs then you are at least living.. Even when we did things if we had gas in the car and food in the coolers we can make a family day anywhere and the time we spent playing ball, swimming or just relaxing and being outside is all that mattered to them... we still did things and they got things but they also knows that money is not all in the world..
Once again i enjoy reading these so please never stop writing them..!!!!!
