Make US Great Again (I) - Hello and welcome back to my weekly blog! - All right, so it has just been a little more than a week since this pretty traumatic election, and I have indeed come across more blatant nastiness and plain soullessness than this entire year combined. Hm, absolutely unreal how viciously people keep turning against each other unashamedly releasing and displaying their inner demons - all over the outcome of an election! Needless to state, the left wing representatives in this country stand directly behind that full- blown anarchist revolution which has been unfolding throughout the whole nation. What is more, the open revelation of the main financiers behind those well planned deliberate massive riots sadly proves to be more than just self- explanatory in this very context. Was it initially Trump's highly aggressive, ruthless, careless and at times even unyieldingly demeaning rhetorics which caused a lot of unnecessary ripples and ultimately tapped right into this sinister pool of rage, hatred and the desire for radical change with more than half of the American population, it is in fact the Democratic party which is currently proving to be just as bad if not worse, this time, though not on a verbal but rather on an active base. With regard to feeding into and hence unmistakably furthering the already considerably troublesome division, prejudice and alienation in this country, I can't help thinking that we have reached a crucial point where we need to stop and turn back before we destroy each other for good. I would therefore suggest that we reword the president- elect's famous campaign slogan to something like "Make US Great Again". According to countless locals' marveling and equally complaining, the good old times are just about to irreversibly go down the drain. In the following, I shall try hard to refrain from stigmatizing certain social groups that are clearly politically manipulated, pressured, persuaded, motivated, or whatever you want to call it, but still I feel like agreeing to a large extent even if I did not grow up here or elsewhere on this continent. After a rather short 10- year period here, I can't but admit noticing a major shift in human behavior to the worse. Courtesy, good manners, empathy, compassion and care in general are quite apparently dying virtues and literally on its last legs. Instead we are more than ever forced to deal with rudeness, disrespect, recklessness, carelessness, ignorance, selfishness, unscrupulousness, violence and flat- out unfathomable stupidity. No doubt, teachers or rather the educational system as a whole needs to be held largely accountable for this repulsive increase of throw- off of idiotic, self- centered, egotistic, and completely unapologetic youth these as well as coming days. However, this approach is indeed a long shot considering that the actual group responsible for those spoilt and unbridled brats is no other than the parents' group. Today's parents are the ones that need to be fully blamed for what is going on in this just as in many other industrial countries because education always starts at home. Without wanting to sound like a Nazi, there are in fact way too many people who should not even waste one single thought on procreation but provenly multiply at light- speed but then just give a damn what becomes of their unruly offspring. I have gradually come to realize that especially women here whose primary intention is clearly set on getting on and remaining on welfare simply rejoice in that insane incentive of bringing just more babies into this world for the mere sake or rather purpose of deeming the continuation of their benefits to be guaranteed for generations to come. This unfortunately still mainly Democratically pushed and promoted concept has over time been badly manipulated and thus turned highly fraudulent and is consequentially not just outrageously wrong but more importantly in dire need to be corrected at last. - Back to parents in general. Who, if not them, will raise, instruct and guide their children? Their upbringing will forever start with them as their guardians, but as long as they themselves are broken, disrespectful, demanding, uncompromising, unwilling, uncooperative, carefree, unproductive and often entirely useless, this downward spiral will just unstoppably dig down deeper and deeper. - Indisputably, there is there still plenty of room for growth for each and everyone of us, and as a society we are definitely called upon reaching out and lending a helping hand to those who need to be psychologically tended to in the first place, so we can finally take a huge leap towards a noticeably more heartfelt, empathic and spiritual conduct. - More about today's lost youth next time.
College or no college - That's the question Now the time is here again for high school graduates to venture off to college and university. I still, to this day, remember being thrilled and overly excited to start as a fresh(wo)man in a new place where studying would go hand in glove with partying for the next few years. I love to see every one's kids swarm out and flock together in college districts and on student campus terrains. Most teenagers get accepted somewhere even though often at second or third choice sites, but they will all have to face one and the same question which is, at what price? Unless you are granted a scholarship, three years and plus of college education costs you an arm and a leg, and if you keep going for more profound specialization, you will be in debts up your neck by the time you have got your PhD. Then what? Go and spit out job applications like a ball machine hoping that someone is going to hire you - unless of course you were lucky eno...
