Sleepers Among Us - Welcome back to my blog! - Seeing ethnic groups within European countries presently dangerously on edge and ready to ruthlessly clash is scaring me quite a bit for it looks war is slowly becoming inevitable on a global scale if that craze is not stopped sooner than later. I'm not talking about back- stabbing and retrograde Turkey which reportedly only recently attacked the trapped Kurdish minority across the border they share with war- stricken Syria. No, I'm speaking of Germany, one of Austria's neighboring nations which would let in almost every ethnicity in the past. No wonder, most of them stayed thanks to all the great advantages and benefits which were not just promised but consequently also caritatively shared and distributed. To lots of you I may sound rather racist, but you see, I am not. Just let me try and explain before judging me right away. A wise man, who happened to have found his true call in life working as a Catholic priest through helping refugees and asylum seekers in Austria, and who I would call a solid philanthropist, said a long time ago. "God has created countries even continents for all of us for the purpose of creating our own habitats. We all would save ourselves a great deal of headaches if we could keep it like that." Sure enough, at 16 I basically knew nothing about migration, segregation or globalization. However, now I believe I do, and witnessing upheavals between rival ethnic groups in a country like Germany over political and religious differences that have nothing to do with Germany itself honestly concerns me beyond anything. Someone may have been born in Germany and even hold a German passport, but in their hearts they are still deeply connected to their ethnic roots - which unfortunately also seems to automatically include all that fierce hatred and rejection towards religiously and politically differently positioned groups. Not only that, some peoples even go as far as to openly rebel against the system, the beliefs and the values of their host countries. And this is exactly where we ought to draw the line for once and all. Ridiculous how many war- thrilled folks have been (and still are) joining that cancerous and self- proclaimed savior army of "fideles"! Sadly, this movement includes my own home country as well. All those traitors should be stripped off their citizenship plus their passports on returning in the blink of an eye since they deliberately turned their backs on generous and caring industrial nations. Showing too much legal lenience as well as allowing too many bureaucratic delays will leave us with more problems than we can possibly handle. Plain and simple, whoever for whatever reason feels the need, urge, desire, etc. to stand by any of those war- loving countries, feel free to leave but do not come back ever again. Without real and draconian consequences this current situation will escalate and ultimately get out of control. As usual, America presents itself differently even in this respect. Having been labeled a melting pot longer than any other nation of the modern era, everybody appears to blend in one way or another. What's more, nobody really pays attention to what others are doing for everyone goes about their own business. Protests on US soil are generally much more peaceful than anywhere overseas even though exactly this somewhat softer approach might in fact blur the actual view on events and in the end conjure up an even more catastrophic outcome. - No matter where we end up living, I believe it is our civil duty to not just become aware of our neighbors and their re-/ actions but also stay alert at all times and most of all learn how to truly care about each other. Not that this would change anything gravely about the course of our collective Karma, but we might as well meet it courageously with our eyes open.
