In The Media Pillory

In The Media Pillory - Really sad the times we're living in these days. Apparently starving for more and more sensational news, we can't wait for another individual in the lime light to be accused and indicted for overstepping certain moral and ethnic boundaries or misbehaving to the extent that the index finger needs to be raised and openly pointed at them. The most recently case dealt with publicly displays the violent misconduct of a former black US Football star against his wife. Sure, I generally despise any form of violence, be it in someone's home or elsewhere, but you see, since none of that is clearly my business, I wonder why everybody else feels like sticking their nose into other people's affairs? What makes it so much worse though, why does something like this have to be dragged out into the public and be recklessly blown up by the media? Regardless of the kind and severity of someone's missteps, who are we to stand up and judge them? You know what we are? Right, nothing but a bunch of shameless hypocrites! So, we sit there and enjoy being updated on someone's failures and misfortune. How pathetic to watch how those social convicts are made to sit down for stupid and senseless interviews just to squeeze out even higher profits left and right. In that precious airtime the bad boys and girls are basically forced to repent publicly on national TV when we all should know that a leopard never changes his spots because that's simply the way it is. We are all full of flaws, thus to err goes along with it perfectly well. In other words, all those open tribunals are actually pretty much for the birds because the violent husband will most likely keep hitting his wife, the drunk news anchor will quite presumably not quit cold turkey and never ever relapse again, and the married skirt chaser will rather predictably look for more of the same kind of temptation in the future. It is what it is. You cannot change people or take the bad out of them by publicly denouncing and scrutinizing them. Again, as negatively as the human nature presents itself in all its possible facets, there's absolutely no need to thrive on other people's downfalls as long as we are just as imperfect as them or even worse. It truly saddens me quite a bit how ferociously we generally tend to go after each other's mishaps, mistakes and bad choices when in fact there would be plenty of soul- searching to do on the home front instead. Those among us who feed off other people's weaknesses should be ashamed of themselves! Malicious joy, mockery as well as the sensation of victory over weaker ones are sad but powerful ego boosters which will however not go unredeemed. One way or another exactly this kind of negative behavior will come back as the compensatory, over- bearing and merciless teacher just like a perfect mirror image. So, next time you witness another one of those supposedly image cleansing interviews stop gloating over whatever the publicly crucified individual has reportedly conjured up through his own bad choices and actions. Always keep in mind, you, too, could easily become a victim of a similar scenario at one point. Just walk away and mind your own sinful business. If we all just got up and turned our backs on that nasty kind of medially super partial tribunalization, the TV ratings would fall way too drastically to keep airing all that dirty laundry in public. Who knows, they even might eventually stop broadcasting that garbage altogether, and celebrities could finally live their lives pretty much the same way we do which is rather unnoticedly and freely.

Buy small and local   Hi everybody! - Coming from a tiny country like Austria, one might assume that globalisation is just a phenomenon tailored for larger nations, but no, it has also been affecting us all across Europe. Globalisation itself is of complex nature, and even though I'm not planning to write about globalisation per se today, it somehow dictates our overall shopping behavior by bringing in more and more big box chain stores worldwide which sets the general trend for methodically and eventually putting local small family- run as well as individualists' shops out of business. In the 70ies I remember mom and dad taking us along to a wide range of stores from the baker to the butcher, the grocer's, the florist, the hard ware place, the electrician, the tobacco store, etc. What great memories our weekly trips to the market created for us. There we would hand- pick fresh fruit, produce, and other delicacies. Sometimes we would even get a piece of fruit or a carrot fo...

The Evolution Of The Soul

The Evolution Of The Soul   - Welcome back to my blog! - Today I'd like to focus on the various levels of souls and their different interim steps, respectively. Altogether there are reportedly 35 different steps, 7 per level of which there are 5. Each single step requires at least one whole lifetime to complete, but since several incarnations end prematurely, are terminated too early or are spent in non- physical states, it does in fact take much longer than that to run through all those steps. Running through, I guess, is a poor choice of words in this context as the entire process definitely resembles more of a gradual growth rather than a speedy race, and so it takes well over a hundred lifetimes and spans over thousands of years at best. Just for the (spiritual) records, the soul's existence between lifetimes - periods that usually also take up some time typically used for the soul to return home, its latest life review, being healed and taught, choosing a new life, prepari...
Jung, Dumm Und Gelangweilt   - Ein herzliches Hallo an alle!
